Here Come the Girls

Marling's new co-educational sixth form is proving popular with potential students

Hundreds of girls came along to Marling Sixth Form’s Open Evening last week to find out about what’s on offer from next September.

This is the first time Marling Sixth Form has recruited girls directly into the school, and In addition to Marling’s own Y11 students, over 280 Y11 students visited from other schools, more than 200 of whom were girls.

Assistant Head of Sixth Form Louise Harris said: ‘This is a great start for our new co-educational sixth form and shows that girls as well as boys are very interested in joining us next September.

Speaking to girls after the event, they went away even more interested after they had seen what we are offering.’

There is another chance to visit Marling Sixth Form during Sixth Form Open Week, 14th to 18th January 2019, when prospective students and parents can book student-led tours to see the school during the working day. Students are also being invited to sign up for A Level taster sessions as part of Discovery Day on Saturday 2nd February. This is an opportunity to try out a range of subjects to help with choosing A Levels courses and to give a flavour of studying at Marling.
