Maths in Action

Thirty students attended the Maths in Action Conference at Warwick University. They thoroughly enjoyed the engaging talks.

Highlights included “Risk and Reward” by Alison Kiddle, a maths communicator and winner of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire”, “How to Get Rich Quick” by Sophie Maclean, who shared insights from her experience in the international stock exchange, and “Numbers in the News” by Zoe Griffiths, which explored how maths can be used to mislead us. The students also participated in a fascinating live experiment. It was a delightful day enjoyed by all.
